Richard produces fine art photographic prints using the finest quality archival materials. Prints are available in sizes from 8" x 12" to 40" x 50", with some images available as larger prints by custom order. Prints are made on the LightJet 5000 or Durst Lambda systems, which are among the most advanced digital printing systems in the industry today. They directly expose light sensitive photographic paper (FujiFlex or Duraflex®) using red, green and blue lasers, resulting in continuous tone prints. This system produces very sharp, deep, color saturated prints.
Additionally, some of the images are available as Giclée type prints, produced on the Epson 3800 or Epson 9800 inkjet printers. Giclée is a French term meaning to spray or squirt, which is how an inkjet printer applies ink to the canvas or paper. These images are generated from high resolution digital files and printed with archival quality inks on fine art paper, photo paper or canvas. The result is a print that displays high color fidelity, sharpness, depth and texture.
Of course, the print making process begins when the photographer captures the image with the camera. Richard uses several camera systems. His medium format system is the Pentax 67II, which creates a 6cm x 7cm transparency. Digital technology has certainly revolutionized the imaging industry, and Richard now shoots the Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera body, with Canon's excellent series of lenses. Additional cameras used in certain circumstances include the Canon Powershot SX1 IS, and the Canon Powershot G12.
The images on this website are also available as Greeting Cards. Cards are printed with a glossy finish, and the inside of the card can be left blank or can be printed with a short message.
